Jose Mourinho's desire for a striker is well documented, with Jackson Martinez among his list of targets.
Porto's star has a deal at the club until 2016 and talks over a renewal are ongoing - but the Portuguese side may end up losing the Colombian.
But two Serie A giants are now challenging Chelsea in the rush to the Porto forward: Roma and Napoli have made enquiries requiring Martinez's situation.
Porto believe mounting interest will help drive the price up if they do cash in on the 27-year-old, with bidding set to start at £25m.
Martinez has scored 41 goals in 53 league matches for Porto and tonight the Portuguese team will face precisely Napoli in Italy for the second leg of Europa League round of 16...a way to show them how good he is and maybe to get closer to them?! Chelsea have to close the deal soon if they want to sign the player.
